Life in the Pain

As we are ending 2015, what can we expect in the “new year."  It’s almost difficult to “expect” when so many may be ended the year with difficulty, pain and disappointment.  Yes, we are all thankful that we are given a new year to experience the journey of life. But many are struggling to see victory IN pain, and life IN death. 

How can we take the “pain of life”, and find purpose in it, and know that there is purpose in the pain.  It’s hard to believe and receive that we can have victory through all  trials.  At times we can become stuck in the pain (John 11:20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house) and we can be blinded by our  tears (“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalms 30:5) and feeling hopeless in disappointments BUT God have a  plan.  The disciples of “Christ”  couldn’t understand that Christ on the Cross was life and hope of them.  They couldn’t see that the wounded  Christ is the light of the world. 
What they expected and what they were seeing was a contradiction or what they thought was a contradiction of their faith in Christ. God was  giving them a great victory in the death of Christ. 
They couldn’t see the resurrection.  They couldn’t see the out-pouring of
the Holy Spirit.  They couldn’t see that God was going to use them to change the world. 
Like them, we may have difficulty seeing the victory in disappointment.
We may have lots of tears to wipe away to see the “Son” rising on the new
horizon bring healing in the wings and revelation for a new day.
“John11:21-27“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the
resurrection at the last day." 
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;  and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the
Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
